General Pankov: "Military Police (MP)? I don't think so ..."

The Russian Army will not have any Military Police (MP), - according to the Army General Nikolay Pankov, who is the spokesman and a deputy of the Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.

Please be reminded that the idea to introduce MP to the Russian Army was due to Mr. Serdyukov's predecessor - Sergey Ivanov, who was talking about it extensively in 2006. At that time it was perceived as a remedy against hazing, corruption and stealing within the Russian Army. MP was to be introduced in 2010 as an independent of the Russian Army agency. Things have changed since then.
