New fregats for the Russian Black sea fleet

Starting from 2013 the Russian Black sea fleet will be receiving annually one or two fregats of the first class (project 1135). Therefore by 2015 the fleet will have obtained about 5 ships of this type. The Commander of the Russian Navy admiral Vladimir Vysotsky has commented that these ships will help to fight the modern high seas piracy. Each fregat of the project 1135 will be armed with one battery "Club" of the self-guided missiles 3M-54ТЭ, one battery "Uragan" of 24 anti-aircraft missiles, two air defence complexes 3M87 "Kortik" , one 100-mm gun, two torpedoes and two bomb-throwers.
