Russian strategic rocket forces got new commanders

General-lieutenant Sergey Karakaev

It is definitely worth mentioning that during the last three years the Strategic Rocket Forces (Strategic Missile Troops) of the Russian Federation or RVSN RF (Russian: Ракетные войска стратегического назначения Российской Федерации (РВСН РФ) have been completely reformed, receiving in the process a new Commander-in-Chief (twice), all new deputies of the Commander-in-Chief, all new commanders of their armies and divisions. In June of last year, the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev appointed general-lieutenant Sergey Karakaev as the Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Rocket Forces - to replace general-lieutenant Andrey Shvaichenko who resigned after having served less than a year in that position.
